At SDN 1 Sukawati in Gianyar on July 29, 2026, 17 volunteers ran an environmental education session for 186 students — one of the largest groups we have worked with this year.

Starting With Plastic

Over roughly three hours, the students were introduced to the different types of plastic waste and what each one does to the environment once it is thrown away. With a group this size, the challenge is keeping the material concrete enough that it holds attention across a whole hall.

Everyday Choices

The thread running through the session was that plastic pollution is the sum of ordinary decisions — what you buy, what you reuse, where it ends up. Framed that way, reducing it becomes something a nine-year-old can act on this afternoon.
