Volunteers gathered at Wana Segara Kertih on September 28, 2025, for a mangrove clean-up that combined environmental action with exploration. The activity involved 22 participants, including university students and members of the local community.

Protecting the Mangrove Ecosystem

The focus of the clean-up was to remove plastic waste trapped in mangrove roots and branches, carried in by ocean currents. This debris threatened the health and balance of the mangrove ecosystem.

Clean-Up by Canoe

Using canoes to navigate through the mangrove area, volunteers paddled through narrow waterways while collecting waste along the way. The approach allowed the team to reach areas that are often difficult to access on foot.

Clean-Up Results

By the end of the activity, the group had removed 100 kilograms of plastic waste, contributing directly to the protection and restoration of the mangrove environment.
