On November 24, 2024, Kelan Beach in Badung saw a massive wave of community energy. A dedicated crew of 61 volunteers hit the sand with a single mission: to strip away the waste cluttering the shoreline and restore the natural beauty of this coastal gem.
Strength in Numbers
It’s amazing what happens when a big group of people gets on the same page. With over 60 volunteers working side-by-side, the team managed to clear a massive stretch of the beach in record time. By the end of the session, they had intercepted 189 kilograms of trash before the tide could pull it out to sea. From tangled old fishing gear to stubborn single-use plastics, every piece of debris picked up was a huge win for the local marine life.

Healthier Coast
While the final numbers were impressive, the real heart of the day was the energy people brought with them. The event did so much more than just tidy up the sand; it gave everyone there a real sense of "we’re in this together." By showing up and getting their hands dirty, these volunteers proved that a little teamwork and some genuine grit can turn a littered shoreline back into a vibrant, healthy spot for everyone to enjoy.
