On April 17, 2026, we visited SDN 5 Kuta in Badung, where 10 volunteers spent the day with 41 students.

Starting With the Basics

We began where every lasting habit begins: with understanding. The students learned what waste actually is, how to separate it by category, and why proper segregation makes such a difference to the island around them. These are small distinctions that add up, and children pick them up faster than most adults expect.

From Knowing to Making

We then invited the students to build something useful out of recycled materials and present their work to the class. Explaining your own creation turns a lesson into ownership. We hope that from now on, sorting waste by category is simply something the children of SDN 5 Kuta know how to do.
