On August 2, 2026, we were back at the Lentera Anak Bali Foundation in Denpasar with 11 volunteers and 29 children — this time on a different subject.

Beyond Waste

Instead of returning to sorting and recycling, the three-hour session widened out to environmental care in general: saving water and energy, looking after plants, and buying less of what you do not need. The children have covered waste with us several times; this gave them somewhere new to go.

Small Actions, Their Own Choices

Through activities, discussion and hands-on learning, the aim was for each child to recognise a role they personally play — not an abstract responsibility, but a handful of specific things they can do at home this week. Keeping the material fresh is how you keep children coming back to it.
