A solid crew of 39 people, mostly Udayana University students and locals, met up on November 16, 2024, for a cleanup that was anything but typical. Instead of just sticking to the sand, everyone grabbed a paddle and hopped into canoes to track down all the plastic waste that usually stays hidden or totally out of reach from the shore.

Cleaning Up by Canoe

By getting out on the water, the team managed to hunt down and snag 69 kg of plastic. It was a total win for the local ecosystem, cutting off pollution right where it does the most damage. Honestly, gliding through the water while hauling out old debris turned the whole thing into a shared adventure it felt way more like a fun day out with friends than an actual chore.

Making an Impact While Having Fun

What made the day really stand out was how a serious mission actually turned into a blast. By mixing a solid workout with a cause that matters, the volunteers showed that saving the planet doesn't have to feel like a boring chore. It was the perfect proof that when you make an event this engaging, people aren't just doing it once, they’re genuinely excited to show up and do it again.
