On February 27, 2026, 12 volunteers headed to SDN 11 Sumerta Elementary School in Denpasar for a three-hour session with 80 students eager to learn about the world around them.

Breaking Down Waste, Building Up Knowledge

The session focused on the fundamentals, what different types of waste are, where they end up, and how to properly sort them at the source. It sounds simple, but for many of the students, it was the first time someone had sat down and explained exactly what happens to the things they throw away every day. Understanding that is the first step toward changing it.

Learning That Sticks

To close out the session, the volunteers brought in something every great lesson needs: fun. Interactive games wrapped up the program, turning everything the students had just learned into something they could actually play with, and remember. Because the best lessons are the ones you don't realize you're learning.
