Corals and Other Invertebrates

Corals are stationary marine invertebrates that are similar to both plants and animals. Corals grow in colonies known as reefs. Coral reefs are vital ecosystems; thousands of other marine species depend on them for food, shelter, and reproduction. Thus, global threats to coral reefs are also threats to millions of other creatures.
